Why Jesus is Better Than Santa Claus
By Rev. James Spellman of Ohio
*Santa lives at the North Pole... JESUS is everywhere.
*Santa rides in a sleigh... JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
*Santa comes but once a year... JESUS is an ever present help.
*Santa fills your stockings with goodies... JESUS supplies all your needs.
*You have to wait in line to see Santa... JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
*Santa lets you sit on his lap... JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
*Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, what's your name?"... JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our head.
*Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly... JESUS has a heart full of love.
*All Santa can offer is HO HO HO... JESUS offers health, help and hope.
*Santa says "You better not cry"... JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you."
*Santa's little helpers make toys... JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
*Santa may make you chuckle but...JESUS gives you a joy that is your strength.
*While Santa puts gifts under your tree... JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.
Its obvious there is really no comparison! Jesus is still the reason for the season. Yes, Jesus is better, he is even better than Santa Claus.

This poem was found over at the 1+1+1=1 blog. It is part of a lovely Christmas Lapbook she has put together! We just LOVE the poem! It completely says what "the reason for the season" is for us. Jesus is our main stay. Without Him we are nothing.

Projects
So much floods my mind on things to get accomplished. I am in the process of knitting 4 items now.....2 almost completed 2 just started. I did finish decorating for Christmas...well my girls did. I just put up the trees, they did garland and ornaments! It is getting colder now and we even had a dusting od snow last night. It really is starting to feel a bit more like the Christmas season. This year I am doing photo cards of the girls to family and friends. I usually do a Christmas letter but want to spend more time doing crafts and cooking with the girls. After the holidays I intend to sew up some dresses for ME! (and throw in a couple things for the kids too)
I am always trying to streamline my homeschooling. Workboxes came to my attention. Google "workboxes for tons of variations on the program designed by Sue Patrick. I need to figure out how to incorporate this into our day. While I like the concept, I don't like how "schooly" it seems. We are a very relax homeschool family, sitting at the table and working or reading on the couch. Sue patrick has a whole little classroom design with desks and "centers". I don't have that kind of room and I like to do a project start to finish and put away. All in all I do like the idea of see the actual schoolwork dwindle throught the school period. What do you all think?
