Disappointed but...

It's in God's hands now.

A new pres won't make the economy better....only time will.

America was spoiled. Bigger house, bigger car or cars, the "I deserve it" mentality....so when the bottom falls out after YEARS of being spoiled and getting what they want, everyone is crying now. People are losing homes due to greed....theirs AND the banks. GREED! folks! This is what helped to put our economy where it is today. When it goes unchecked, this is what happens. And everyone was surprised. DUH!

Glad I don't have anything. Makes me one VERY happy camper. Money poor, but rich in Christ ,family and joy!

This is the day that the Lord has made!

We will REJOICE and be GLAD in it!

It is amazing at how I can see all the many blessings that the Lord showers on us daily. While the world is in turmoil, finances crumbling, jobs disappearing etc, I feel a peace that passes all understanding. During our trials this year, (and He knows all of them!) God has taught us patience and to rely FULLY on Him. As long as I follow Him and what He wants me to learn, I can't go wrong. He is true to His Word and will NEVER leave! He cannot bless us if we don't let Him.

Healthy Eating

Originally posted Monday September 29, 2008

I have always been interested in better nutrition, and ways to not only feed my family healthier, but what supplements were needed to achieve a healthy body. I have started including LOTS more raw foods in our diet (as cooking destroys vitamins and minerals) and limiting meats such as beef and chicken. We have stopped eating pork altogether. There are a couple of awesome raw food uncook books on the Above Rubies website (link at right) and most of the recipes we have tried are wonderful. Desserts too! We have started exercising regularly, and I have already lost 7 lbs! Hubby is a diabetic and he has achieved great things with supplements and a better (ie: healthier) diet! I'll touch on these in another post, as I think having options and taking charge of your health is important.

I need fabrics anonymous!

ANd I am training the girls young to spot some of the very best fabrics! LOL

This and That

Thought I would get photo's os some of the stuff I have done. Jessica's hat and scarf (that I need to finish and get off the loom) a new pink hat for Jessica (still a work in progress), another baby blanket (cause I think that it looks so beautiful, again a work in progress.) Going to start a shrug for me for spring (because it will most likely take me that long) and that wool hat for me.
My 8 year old hijacked my black and white hat and I gotta say it looks pretty darn cute on her. So she gets to keep it. I'll make myself another one.

Plushy House Socks almost done!

I just have to stitch up the toe and BAM it's done. Will finish a second one this weekend. It actually looks like a sock! Heel and all!! And yes, this was done on the Knifty Knitter blue circular loom! The top photo I actually have on with needles still in toe waiting for the Kitchner stitch and the secondphoto it is inside out with needles still on. It was easy to follow and easy to complete. Even for me. I did it while nursing Jessie and watching Barney. :0) This pattern is by Isela Phelps and you can get it here.

Plushy House socks about done!

And they fit! And look like SOCKS with a heel and everything! WooHooo!

Ahem...sorry.

I will be starting another pair for darling hubby this weekend. He was really impressed (and yarn arts don't do anything for him) And my 3 little darlings want some too. And maybe my mom will get a pair (hi mom!) and bro and, and, and oooh GIFTS!

I must take some time out this weekend to cut patterns and fabric. I NEED some stuff to wear and I'll get arrested if I go out only in my Plushy House socks.

A whole new world!

Egads! There is a whole wonderful world out there of loom knitters! And they are so sweet and helpful. Not to mention VERY talented. Did I say very talented?! Extremly talented! I much prefer loom knitting to needle knitting. Easier to master and not awkward to hold, (at least for me) I can crochet like the dickens but knitting seemed to elude me. NOT ANYMORE!!! I am loom knitting SLIPPER SOCKS! More on this tomorrow. Pooped! Gotta hit the sack.

Let's try again!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I will try and be a better blogger this year! I am truely pathetic when it comes to keeping things updated.

Well I have completed a few things...a knit hat and scarf for Jessica. And a hat for me to match my new coat. The stuff for Jessica was done with Red Heart Baby clouds in pale yellow. My yarn was a bit racier. LOL I used a black boucle from Lion and a white sport weight Baby Coordiantes from Bernat together. I knit all on a loom. I have also started fingerless gloves with the boucle and baby and will also make a scarf. Both will be loom knit. I also did a baby newborn hat but it was a gift so I didn't get a picture. I am currently working on a matching blanket, using yellow and white (together) Baby Cordinates from Bernat. I should have this done this weekend. Off to finish clutter clearing and the pattern tracing and cutting out some knit tops for me. Ta ta!
